🌿 Nature Connection Sunday: The Earth is Speaking

As we journey through Lent's season of reflection and renewal, we invite you outdoors to realign your body and spirit with the natural world.  On this Sunday, Jess will facilitate and we’ll immerse ourselves in nature connection core practices, learning to awaken and attune our senses, deepen our embodied awareness, and become more aware of the life around us.  We'll create a foundation for how we can encounter the natural world together through land based practices, somatic connection, and prayer.

In a world that often pulls us away from creation, we are in a time of deep disconnection from the natural world. This will be a space to explore and recover our innate understanding that we are not separate from nature, but deeply woven into the web of life.  Our future and our climate depend on this connection, a process which heals us from the inside out. We will also weave in space for ongoing practice in our circle together.

📅 Date: Sunday, March 23rd, 2025
🕘 Time: 11am - 1pm
📍 Location: a Berkeley park, (likely Tilden Park- Exact location TBD)

We kindly ask that you RSVP for this event, you can do so here.

The RSVP form has space to sign up and to submit any questions or concerns about the event. After you register, our facilitator will be in touch with any additional necessary details.

A note for participants:

This first session will introduce core routines and foundational practices for what may become a series if there is interest. Future explorations may include other more in depth nature-based practices. We will also create an opportunity for individual ongoing practice and ways to communicate about the process going forward.

What to bring:

  • Water and a snack,

  • Layers to stay warm or cool as needed; hat, sunblock, waterproof jacket,

  • Comfortable shoes (we'll have a time to be barefoot as well if weather permits),

  • And a small journal or paper and pencil

Note: We will be sitting on the ground for part of the workshop. If you need something to sit on for comfort or stability (towel, camping chair, etc), please bring that with you. f you're comfortable sitting on the ground, no need to bring anything else.

However, if it rains the day before and the ground is damp, bringing a waterproof jacket or similar to sit on is a good idea!

To fully engage in this practice, you'll be invited to leave devices in a basket when arriving—phones, smartwatches, and other distractions—so we can be fully present. These will be held safely and returned at the end of the event.
